From looking at manifestos in the first seminar of the term, we were then asked to create our own, reflecting our own aspirations and motivations regarding our design practice. Below is my own 'Note to self' manifesto;
When writing my manifesto I took inspiration more from Daniel Eatock's more straight-forward, guideline approach than Claes Oldenburg's quite complex, abstract statements about his stance on art and design. When thinking of ideas to put in to my manifesto I focused on the things I think are most important to me personally when designing and things that would guide me and remind me (the reason behind the 'note to self' title) of the importance of certain aspects of design, and also things I strive to do, for example, embracing opportunities and not letting self-doubt interfere with being creative.
